Job seekers outnumber vacancies two times in Bashkiria

Today, tensions in the labor market have grown in Bashkiria; the number of job offers is now half that of job seekers. The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Protection RB Lenara Ivanova reported about this at a briefing session in the government.

In the region, the number of unemployed citizens increased by 3.3 times since January 1, 2020. As of May 25, the number of unemployed is 60,033 people. The registered unemployment rate accordingly increased by 3.17 percent. In total, 64 thousand applications for unemployment were received. 44 percent are long-term unemployed citizens, the vice prime minister said.

Today, 128 thousand people work part-time or remotely. Almost 24 thousand employees are on leaves with minimal payment.

In general, the situation in the labor market is stabilized. Citizens submit applications; after ten days, they are recognized as unemployed and start to receive unemployment benefits, the minister said.
