Livestock and poultry production increased by 35% in Bashkiria in first quarter

According to the results of the first quarter, the production of the main types of livestock products in agricultural enterprises increased in the republic. According to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency, in January-March 2020, livestock and poultry production for slaughter (in live weight) increased by 35.6%, milk - by 7.6%, egg production - by 3.4% compared to the same period last year.

Milk yield per cow in January-March 2020 amounted to 1366 kilograms against 1252 kilograms in the first quarter a year earlier, laying rate per hen - 73 pieces against 70.

According to estimates, in January-March, the households of the republic of all categories produced livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) - 78.8 thousand tons (+ 16.8% compared to January-March 2019), milk - 328.2 thousand tons (+ 3.6%), eggs - 234.0 million pieces (+ 2.9%).
