Bashkiria observed increase in industrial production in January-March

In the republic, the first quarter of 2020 was characterized by an increase in industrial production - the index amounted to 101.7% compared to the same period last year, the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reports.

According to statistics, a positive trend was observed in mining (104.7%), manufacturing (102.1%), as well as in water supply and sanitation, waste collection and disposal, pollution elimination activities (107.6%).

Meanwhile, the energy sector in the first three months of this year, on the contrary, showed a decrease by January-March 2019 (92.9%).

“Among the manufacturing industries, the following types of the economy had a positive impact on the indicator: production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (157.8%), other vehicles and equipment (138.0%), medicines and materials (130.1%), textiles, paper and paper products (125.3-127.4%), computers, electronic and optical products (119%), clothing, food products (114.9-117%), machinery and equipment, and other non-metallic mineral products, electrical equipment (111.3-112.5), repair and installation of machinery and equipment, metallurgy, production of chemicals and chemical products (108.2-108.8%), other finished products (102.7%), rubber and plastic products (100.2%),” stated Bashkortostan Statistics Agency.

At the same time, compared with January-March last year, the region observed a lag in wood processing, furniture production by 24.6-27.6%, the production of beverages, finished metal products - by 14.1-14.9%, leather and leather products, petroleum products - 6-7.6%, printing, and copying - 1.4%.

For comparison: the nationwide industrial production index amounted to 101.5% in January-March of this year.

In the regions of the Volga Federal District, this indicator ranged from 92.1% in the Ulyanovsk Region to 110.1% in Mordovia.
