Scientists named spheres of Bashkiria economy to benefit from coronavirus

Scientists at the Institute for Strategic Studies of Bashkortostan presented options for the republican economy development during the coronavirus.
Economists predicted growth in some sectors of the regional economy during this difficult period.
The coronavirus will have a positive effect on all areas that will adapt to the new reality and will go online:
- retail trade;
- catering (but not many companies will be able to rebuild business processes);
- advertising (online advertising of online services);
- education;
- banking services;
- delivery services;
- online entertainment of all kinds;
- social networks.
Currently, growth is already observed in the following areas:
- insurance (primarily medical), an increase in demand is expected to lead to an increase in the cost of policies;
- production of medical preparations, medicines, disinfectants, gloves and protective masks, disposable packaging;
- pharmaceuticals.
New technologies will receive a powerful impulse:
- communications, such as, for example, 5G;
- deliveries: robotic delivery, robot transport, delivery by drones;
- digital medicine - will remove existing restrictions for further development;
- alert and decision-making systems using artificial intelligence (AI);
- technologies for organizing remote work.
Among the potentially winning sectors of the economy of the republic, economists also distinguish domestic tourism.
In the short term, it is attracting tourists from our large cities, in the long term - from the nearest regions.
Another winning sector is agribusiness, which will have good prospects during the coronavirus pandemic, experts say.
Support for the construction sector will help to maintain the stability of the metallurgical sector, with high demand for fittings, pipes, rolled metal, etc.
The crisis will give impetus to the development of the local light industry.
