“We will monitor situation and support our helicopter plant” - Radiy Khabirov

Two months have passed since the last visit of the Head of Bashkortostan to the Kumertau Helicopter Plant. On January 21, Radiy Khabirov held a visiting meeting at the plant, and in early February in Ufa, together with the leadership of the Rostec state corporation, measures were outlined to recover KumAPP from the economic crisis.
The Head of the Republic examined several factory workshops, after which he held a meeting. KumAPP Managing Director Nikolai Frolov said that an agreement had been reached with the Russian Ministry of Defense on concluding a long-term state contract for an overhaul with the modernization of 16 Ka-27 helicopters into the Ka-27M version until 2027. The negotiations are conducted with naval aviation for the supply of 2 helicopters of the Ka-31R radar patrol in 2022. There are a number of other contracts. In particular, part of the products rang was transferred from the Kazan Helicopter, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plants, JSC AAK Progress (Arsenyev, the Primorye Territory).
“Currently, we produce a new modernized helicopter. By the end of the year, we must produce two prototypes. In the first half of 2021, flight tests will be conducted in order to begin the delivery of serial helicopters already in 2022. All these measures will allow us to increase production by two times compared to last year, and in 2021, taking into account the developed contracts, we expect revenue of 10 billion rubles, ” Nikolai Frolov said.
“We see that the measures taken have allowed the company to increase its volumes and find new contracts. I want to thank the Rostec management for their support of the plant. We will monitor the situation, and of course, we will continue to support our helicopter plant, ”said Radiy Khabirov.
The head of the republic also saw the first flight tests of the fire extinguishing system, which was designed and manufactured at KumAPP as part of the import substitution program. Due to this system, the plant wants to increase the rating of helicopters that are used in fire fighting, as the development of the Kumertau helicopter plant will be offered as an option.
