30% of pensioners continue to work in Bashkiria – Bashkortostan Statistics Agency

In Bashkiria, nearly 30% of pensioners continue to work, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reports. The average old-age pension at the beginning of 2020 amounted to 15.3 thousand rubles (in 2010 - 7.1 thousand rubles).
According to the polls, the incomes of households consisting only of pensioners correspond to the average level in the republic or even slightly exceed it. It is a rather low level of pensions that makes pensioners continue to work.
According to official figures, every fifth pensioner has a job, taking into account informal employment and, according to surveys, almost 30%.
In the income of households consisting only of pensioners, the share of pension provision is only 61%.
In 2019, pensioners made up a quarter of the population of Bashkiria - more than 1 million. In 2010, there were 855.7 thousand.
