It was proposed to create flax and oilseed producers cluster in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, a cluster of flax and oilseed producers should be created. Such a proposal was made by the Dr.sc.agr Razit Nurlygayanov at the round table “Smart Technologies In Crop Production. New Approaches and Solutions ”, which took place as part of the “Agrocomlex” International Exhibition.

“In Bashkiria, a cluster of flax and oilseed producers should be created, which would seek buyers for products, and farmers can be engaged only in growing them,” he said.

Currently, the republic’s agrarians grow oil flax in the territory of most districts. These are mainly the northern regions and the Trans-Urals - a total of more than 42 thousand hectares.

In Udmurtia, which is a region for the flax cultivation and processing, there are five fiber plants. It is grown in an area of 4.5 thousand hectares.

According to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, flax is a promising area for cultivation, despite the fact that it shows low productivity.

The main problem is the state of the soil after harvesting: flax straw decomposes for three years, worsening the balance of trace elements in the soil. And this, in turn, reduces the yield of subsequent crops.

The meeting was attended by representatives of agricultural enterprises, as well as scientists of agricultural research institutes.

As the Deputy Minister of Agriculture RB, Irik Surakov, noted, “crop production is developing nowadays, new technologies of crop cultivation are emerging at the same pace. In the pursuit of productivity, we forget that we are starting to harm. Last year, bees died due to the processing of rapeseed fields.”

The chairman of the society of beekeepers of the Nurimanovsky district of Bashkiria Rustem Abdullin keeps an apiary of one hundred bee colonies. He confirmed that the problem existed, and farmers and beekeepers should develop a joint activities plan.

In particular, he proposed to create an electronic map of treatments and digitize all apiaries in the region, and to abandon the use of preparations of hazard class 1 and 2.

Also, experts touched on the possibilities of using biopesticides and recognized that there were currently problems with the supply of quality preparations.
