Banks will limit cash withdrawals through ATMs

The Bank of Russia recommended that banks limit the issuance of cash at ATMs with the function of receiving them, according to the regulator’s website.
If possible, banks should also limit the functions of issuing and receiving banknotes at ATMs operating in the recirculation mode.
Banks should also regularly sanitize devices for transferring banknotes, terminals, and ATMs. All this should allow minimizing the spread of coronavirus infection when using cash.
“The Bank of Russia also recommends that banks when working with clients pay their attention to the priority use of the non-cash payment for goods and services: online transfers and contactless payment by card,” the Central Bank noted.
According to «Izvestia», on March 23, the Post Bank estimated the risk of coronavirus infection through an ATM. The bank emphasizes that if you follow the basic rules of hygiene, then there will be no acute danger when working with cash.
