Industrial production index was 101.8% in Bashkiria

The industrial production index in Bashkiria for the first two months of this year amounted to 101.8% compared to January-February 2019, the region’s statistics reported.
Since the beginning of the year, high growth rates have been observed in the production of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, other vehicles and equipment, paper and paper products, as well as clothing, medicines, food products, water supply, the manufacture of other finished products, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment, non-metallic mineral products, textile products. Production growth in these areas ranged from 111 to 176.9%.
“Besides, the increase in output is observed in the extraction of minerals, the production of chemicals and chemical products, computers, electronic and optical products, the production of rubber and plastic products, machinery and equipment,” Bashkoststan Statistics Agency added.
At the same time, production volumes decreased in wood processing, furniture, electrical equipment, finished metal products, drinks, as well as in metallurgy, leather and leather products, oil products, electricity, gas and steam, air conditioning, and in printing activities. The decrease in production volumes in these sectors amounted to 5-20.1%.
Meanwhile, in Russia as a whole, the industrial production index amounted to 102.2% in January-February 2020.
In the regions of the Volga Federal District, this indicator ranged from 94.8% in the Saratov Region to 112.3% in Chuvashia.
