Sugar reserves in Bashkiria double cover population’s need

The need of Bashkortostan residents for sugar is not more than 100 thousand tons. During the season, three sugar factories of the republic produced more than 200 thousand tons of sugar. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, last year, our farmers harvested sugar beets on an area of 47.2 thousand hectares, collecting 1.8 million tons of root crops. During the “Prodrazvedka” press tour, journalists personally became convinced of the huge reserves of granulated sugar at “Raevsakhar” LLC in the Alsheevsky District.

Director of the enterprise Sergey Baiguzin said that over the past season, 100 thousand tons of sugar were produced here. It is just the annual need of Bashkortostan for this product. And now more than 50 thousand tons of sugar are stored in the warehouses of the Raevsky Sugar Plant.

“Certainly, we also felt a drop in the price of our products by half, which developed in the market due to a large crop of sugar beets. I want to assure all residents of the republic that there is enough sugar in our warehouses, there will be no problems with it even in the summer when the housewives start making jams and compotes, ”said the director of Raevsakhar LLC.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that the Prodimex group of companies suspended the operation of the Meleuzovsky Sugar Plant due to a two-fold reduction in white sugar prices in the Russian market during the year. Meleuzovsky Sugar Plant began its work in 1960. It specialized in the production of sugar from sugar beets and raw cane sugar. The processing capacity was up to 3.3 thousand tons per day.
