Karakalpakstan delegation is on official visit in Bashkiria

The official delegation of Karakalpakstan of the Republic of Uzbekistan arrived in the capital of Bashkiria, the State Committee RB for Foreign Economic Relations reported.

The delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Bakhytzhan Khabibullaev. It consists of representatives of the authorities of the republic and business circles.

The delegation’s stay program provides for working meetings with the leadership of the executive authorities of Bashkiria, as well as visits to several agricultural enterprises.

According to the results of 2019, Uzbekistan occupies the 12th place in the foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria with a share of 2.01%. In general, foreign trade turnover amounted to 99.27 million dollars last year.

Export is recorded at $ 82.7 million. Today, Bashkiria supplies mainly engineering products, wood, metals, and plastics.

Import amounted to 16.57 million dollars. Thus, food products (50.3%), zinc, and products from it (30.1%), engineering products (9.5%), and other goods come from Karakalpakstan.

As of January 1 of this year, there were 57 enterprises in Bashkiria created with the participation of capital from Uzbekistan.

Karakalpakstan is located in the northwestern part of Uzbekistan. The administrative center and the largest city in the region is the city of Nukus.
