Project of creating Southern railway bypass of Ufa is estimated at 6 billion rubles

The construction of second tracks on the Southern railway bypass of Ufa will increase its throughput from 18.5 to 51 pairs of trains per day, or 2.5 times. Such data are provided by Russian Railways. According to the updated work plan, the reconstruction project of the Southern Bypass includes the construction of 18.9 kilometers of second tracks, which will increase their total deployed length from 83 to 102.9 km. In addition to the five existing bridges, three more bridges are to be built, as well as two overpasses - one over the Ufa-Orenburg highway and one in the vicinity of the village of Chesnokovka.

The project cost is estimated at about 6 billion rubles. Construction work is scheduled for 2022-2024. It is assumed that the republic will share the financing of the project with Russian Railways. The investment agreement of the regional government and state-owned companies is planned to be signed in September this year.

According to the estimates of Russian Railways, the project will provide a powerful incentive for the development of the city commuter train, providing a ring route around the Ufa Peninsula. It will also accelerate the movement of 10 commuter trains going along the Dema-Shaksha section and organize the movement of 8 commuter trains from Ufa to Iglino. Passenger traffic will increase to 3.8 million people a year, including by 0.5 million in Ufa.
