Resort complex of Bashkiria took first place in revenue in Volga Federal District in 2019

In 2019, various tourist services were provided in Bashkiria for a total amount of 13.5 billion rubles. According to this indicator, the republic took 2nd place in the Volga Federal District and 9th in Russia as a whole. Such data at a meeting of the relevant committee of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB was announced by the Chairman of the recently created State Committee for Tourism RB Salavat Nafikov.

The main driver of the industry remains the sanatorium-and-health-resort complex, which provided services worth 5 billion rubles, this is the first indicator in the Volga Federal District and the fifth in Russia. Hotels, holiday homes, and other places of accommodation received 4.3 billion rubles from guests (2nd place in the Volga Federal District and 9th in Russia). The cost of travel agencies services is estimated at almost the same amount (3rd place in the Volga Federal District, 9th in the whole country).

At the end of 2019, the tourist flow to Bashkiria grew by 8% and exceeded 2.7 million people. The most considerable traffic is Ufa - the capital is visited by about a million people a year. Of these, about 80-90% are so-called business or business tourists who come to work to participate in exhibitions, forums, and other corporate events.

According to the deputy head of the Ufa administration, Nikolai Fadeev, a one-day stay of a business tourist in the capital of Bashkiria, costs 17-20 thousand rubles. These costs consist of accommodation, meals, and participation in ongoing thematic events. An ordinary tourist visiting Ufa for educational or entertainment purposes spends about three times less, that is, 5.5-7 thousand rubles a day.

The actively developing industry provides significant revenues to the republican budget. Last year, tax revenues from tourism enterprises in the region increased by 5%, reaching 960 million rubles.
