Maternity capital for first-borns: law was signed in Russia with payment program expansion

Maternity capital certificate will be issued already at the birth of first-borns. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law expanding the capital program. This was reported by TASS with reference to the official portal of legal information.

According to the document, the program is extended until December 31, 2026. The payout for families with two children will increase. The annual indexation of payments is also envisaged.

The funds of 466,617 rubles will be available to families in which the first child was born or adopted since January 1, 2020. In the case of birth or adoption of a second child and subsequent children, the amount of payment will be 616 617 rubles.

Due to the changes introduced, families will have an opportunity to channel maternity capital on the construction or reconstruction of residential buildings, including on garden plots.

It is expected that this year more than a million Russian families will receive funds for their first and second children.
