It is planned to build 5-kilometer railway to launch Aeroexpress train to Ufa Airport

It is planned to create a 5-kilometer railway connect the Ufa International Airport and the territory of the capital of the republic. The new branch will start from the Southern Railway Bypass of Ufa in the vicinity of the Chesnokovka village and will go to the airport directly. Such data are contained in the report by Dmitry Novikov, deputy head of the Bashkir Directorate of the Kuibyshev railway.
The provision of communication between the Southern Railway Bypass and the airport will allow passengers to be transported along the ring route around Ufa via the Dema-Shaksha and Iglino-Shaksha-Airport lines. The timing and cost of the project are not disclosed; however, it will be directly related to the plan for creating the ring route of the Ufa commuter train. The latest project involves the construction of the second track of a single-track section of the Southern Bypass. The cost of work is about 6 billion rubles, the beginning of practical implementation is scheduled for 2024. Currently, railway Aeroexpress trains are available in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and several major cities of the country. Their main advantage is the fast delivery of passengers on schedule without the risk of missing flights due to traffic jams. Last year, Ufa International Airport served 3.5 million people and entered the top ten busiest Russian airports. The connection between the city and the airport is often difficult due to traffic jams.
