Largest solar power plant is launched in Burzyansky district of Bashkiria

The largest solar power plant in the republic with industrial energy storage devices has been launched in the Burzyansky district of Bashkiria. Its capacity is 10 MW.
Burzyanskaya SPP of the Hevel company will combine independent operation and as a network station. An 8 MW drive will be able to maintain power during emergency outages. It is the largest power plant in Europe in terms of energy storage capacity.
The launch of the hybrid station took place live at the opening of the Russian Industrial Forum in Ufa with the participation of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.
“Alternative energy sources are not the basic solutions for our republic, but also our future,” Radiy Khabirov marked. “We are one of the leading regions in terms of solar energy generation in Russia. Besides, we did not rest on our laurels and continued to work in this area. A rather large solar power plant is currently under construction in the Sterlibashevsky district.”
“We hope that the experience of Bashkiria in the use of new technologies will be an example for other similar regions of the country. Moreover, this coordinates perfectly with the UN sustainable development goals, which include low-cost and clean energy, ”said Sergey Brilev, president of the Global Energy Association.
Commenting on the opening of the solar power plant in the Burzyansky district, Michael Gretzel, winner of the Global Energy Prize -2017, professor at the Federal Polytechnic School in Lausanne (Switzerland), noted that according to a study by Shell Corporation, it would be necessary to increase photoelectric generation by 200 times to achieve the goals of the Paris climate agreement (to keep global growth average temperature below 2 °C).
As the Bashinform News Agency reported, in Bashkiria, there are Bugulchanskaya and Buribaevskaya solar power plants (SPP), launched in 2015 and 2016 in energy-deficient Khaibullinsky and Kuyurgazinsky districts.
With the launch of the Isyangulovskaya SPP at the end of 2017, the total solar generation capacity reached 44 megawatts in the region. In total, Hevel announced plans to build five plants in the republic with a total capacity of 65 MW by 2020.
Besides, a solar power plant with an installed generating capacity of 25 MW will appear in the Sterlibashevsky district of the republic, it will be built by Solar Systems.
Commissioning of the station is scheduled for 2020, the total investment amounted to 3.7 billion rubles.
