January inflation amounted to 0.3 percent in Bashkiria

The consumer price index for goods and services amounted to 0.3% in Bashkiria in January of this year, compared to December 2019, the republican statisticians reported to the Bashinform News Agency.
In general, for the year - from January 2019 - inflation developed in the region at the level of 2.3%. The average for Russia was 2.4%.
“In January, the food market of the republic was characterized by a decrease in prices for half of the observed food products. Of 104 types of produce (without vegetables, fruit, and alcohol), 51 showed price reductions”, the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency stated.
Traditionally, seasonal price increases have been observed for most types of fruit and vegetables. At the same time, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes rose in price the most in a month - by 20.9-21.6%.
On the contrary, prices for millet and chicken eggs showed the largest decrease - minus 5.9% and 7.5% respectively.
At the same time, prices for cooked sausages and chicken legs increased by 2.2-2.4%. The list of products that became more expensive also included certain types of fish products, dairy products, cakes, ketchup, salt, marshmallow, fruit, and berries paste, flour, canned vegetables, soft drinks, and coffee.
As for alcohol, in January vodka prices grew by 2.4%, domestic beer - by 1.1%.
“In the non-food sector, the increase in car prices was 1.4%, gasoline, and diesel fuel - 0.5-0.6%. Also, tobacco products went up by 0.4% and newspapers - by 3.7-4.9%. At the same time, TVs and tablets became 1.3-2% cheaper, jewelry - 1.7% cheaper”, added statisticians.
In the service sector, payments for the overhaul of apartment buildings grew by 31%.
Certain types of dental services rose in the republic by 3.1-7.4%, veterinary - by 5.9%.
Meanwhile, trips to Thailand have become more expensive by 2.4%. However, excursion trips to Europe fell by 1.9-4% for residents of Bashkiria. The cost of travel on long-distance trains decreased by 9%, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency summed up.
