Karine Khabirova: I would like to wear clothes by Bashkiria designers

Three-quarters of Ufa women buy clothes only when necessary, 22% - no more than once a month. 43% of customers pay attention to quality, 38% - to the price, and only 15% - want to follow fashion trends. The data was announced at the Light Industry forum held in Ufa today. According to the survey, more than half of the customers - 54% - are not satisfied with the quality of the goods, 26% think that the price is too high. More than 50% can afford to spend on clothes no more than 5000 thousand rubles a month.
Manufacturers also record a decrease in consumer demand for clothes. Ufa businessman Igor Chernenko said that in the middle price segment, the clothing market fell 8% last year. But the revenue of the MADYART brand, which he represented at the exhibition as part of the Light Industry forum, on the contrary, grew by 12%. The businessman associates this with the stable quality and loyalty of conservative customers. The online store of the brand is developing, now women in all cities of the country wear clothes from Ufa.
The forum discussed not only the development of local manufacturers in the light industry but also the development of local brands of designer clothes, accessories, and home goods, as well as how to combine national color and modern looks.
The importance of the development of local brands was also noted by the wife of the Head of Bashkiria, Karine Khabirova:
“I represent the republic in various regions of our country and abroad. I would like to wear clothes by local manufacturers and designers too. I would also like our guests to see that we keep up to date. It is also important that global brands hear that there are opportunities to come to our territory. These are additional jobs for our people”.
The Bashkir art crafts company Agidel also presented a rebranding project at the forum. It is going to produce clothes, accessories, and household goods under its brand.
