Birth rate is one and half times lower than desirable in Bashkiria

UFA, 29 January 2020. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozalia Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
In Bashkiria, the total birth rate is 1.542 - this is the number of children born per woman.
In Russia, this figure reached the time of World War II - 1.3. Moreover, a coefficient of 2.1 is required for the reproduction of the population.
In Bashkiria, the highest coefficient was in 2014 - 1.948; it has been decreasing since 2015. It was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan - Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the population Lenara Ivanova at a video conference on the provision of social support measures announced in the Address of Vladimir Putin.
“The challenge is to increase the ratio to 1.7 in the country. It is required not just to increase the number of births, but to increase the number of children per woman, ”said Lenara Ivanova.
According to her, opinion polls indicate the willingness of 67 percent of respondents to have another child under favorable conditions - with housing, tax benefits, and infrastructure. For 40 percent, a direct payout may be decisive.
In the near future, a roadmap on support measures prepared by the Ministry of Labor will be adopted.
From January 1, 2020, to three years old, benefits will be paid for families in which the first or third child was born on January 1, 2018, if their average per capita income does not exceed two living wages (20 thousand 868 rubles). The amount of the allowance for the first child in 2020 will be 9789 rubles, for the third and subsequent children - 8993 rubles.
The effect of the measures taken will be calculated by the family and demography laboratory created in Bashkiria.
