Eastern exit construction is resumed in Ufa

Construction works on the completion of the Eastern exit tunnel were resumed in Ufa. This was made possible due to the additional terms to the 2017 concession agreement on financing, construction and operation of the Eastern exit toll road signed in the framework of the VTB Capital Investment Forum “Russia Calling!”. The construction of the Eastern exit tunnel began in 1992 and was suspended in 2007 due to a lack of funding.

Yesterday, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov visited the construction site. The State Transport Committee Chairman Timur Mukhametyanov said that contracting organizations had already begun the construction works. The general contractor - Turkish company Limak - has already started preparations for the implementation of the project.

The total project cost is 33.5 billion rubles. Of these, 24.45 billion rubles are a principal grant (19.99 billion - federal budget funds, 4.5 billion - republican budget funds), 9.1 billion – are concessionaire funds. The total cost of all works will be over 40 billion rubles.

It is planned to complete the construction of the Eastern exit in 2023. There are 10 km of high-speed four-lane highway to be built, a flyover bridge over the Ufa River 2.7 km long, two sections of the underground tunnel with two lanes in each. The Eastern exit will unite the federal highways M5 and M7 and will have a decisive role in the development of Zaufimye territory, where it is planned to build residential neighborhoods.
