Bashkir agricultural products can successfully enter European markets - Ministry of Agriculture

UFA, 27 January 2020. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
Lower cost products of Bashkir agricultural producers will be able to compete successfully with the products of European farmers, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov. At a briefing session in the government, he spoke about the trip of the Bashkir delegation of 40 people to the Berlin exhibition "Green Week". The stand of Bashkortostan took part in the exhibition, along with 18 regions of Russia.
The Deputy Prime Minister met with the Minister of Agriculture of Austria, Elizabeth Köstinger, and agreed on cooperation: the republic plans to buy technology and pedigree cattle, and deliver its products to Europe through this country, "the friendliest to us compared to others," the official explained.
Ilshat Fazrakhmanov recalled that in Europe due to the crisis of overproduction and at the same time an increase in the cost of production, many farmers suffered bankruptcy, and they were not happy about the emergence of competitors from Russia. The Agriculture Minister of Bashkiria is confident that domestic products can enter this market.
Representatives of Bashkiria met with the largest foreign investors - Stefan Duerr about the continuation of investments (his agricultural holding EkoNiva is building dairy complexes in Belebeyevsky, Ermekeevsky, Bizhbulaksky districts, where 11.5 thousand dairy cows will be kept in total), and the owner of Belebeyevsky dairy plant Alex Bongran (president of the French concern "Savencia Fromage & Dairy", which bought a controlling stake in the company in 2017). In 2021, in Belebey, the largest dairy plant in Russia and Europe will start operating.
The Bashkir delegation also visited the Valrona factory of the premium-class chocolate manufacturer and agreed that the company would conduct marketing research on the demand for its products in Russia. In case of a positive answer, it will consider options for locating production at one of the priority development areas in Bashkiria.
