UFA, 21 January 2020. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
In 2020, 8,770 km of roads will be marked with thermoplastic in Bashkiria. It was announced by Timur Mukhametyanov, the Head of the State Committee for Transport and Road Facilities RB, at the meeting of the Presidium RB chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Nazarov.
According to the chairman of the relevant state committee, one kilometer marked with thermoplastic will cost 64 thousand rubles. While road marking with paint costs five times cheaper - about 12 thousand rubles. However, regional authorities noted that due to the thermoplastic marking, the number of accidents in Bashkiria decreased by 17% in 2019.
“I believe that every saved life and safety on the road, are worth it at any price,” said Andrei Nazarov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that in 2019 thermoplastic was used on all major roads in Ufa, partly on the streets of Sterlitamak, Salavat, 2600 kilometers of regional, and some inter-municipal roads. In 2020, the new material will be used for axial marking of all inter-municipal roads.
In Bashkiria, 42% of road accidents are collisions between vehicles, 23% collisions between vehicles and pedestrians, 25% are getting off the road and rollovers. Clearly visible dividing lines and the most important signs on the road allow drivers to control speed and distance better, simplify maneuvers, and also reduce the risks of collision with pedestrians.
