Ufa airport welcomed record 3.5 millionth passenger

On December 24, Ufa International Airport served the 3.5 millionth passenger for the first time in the history of the air harbor. This time, the happy passenger was Evgenia Kazakova. The woman was registered on a flight by the Rossiya airline from Ufa to St. Petersburg.

On behalf of the government of the republic, the deputy chairman of the regional State Transport Committee, Azat Kalimullin congratulated the 3.5-millionth passenger.

Finishing the year with new records is becoming a tradition for the Ufa air hub, Alexander Andreev, the airport CEO said. According to him, for several years in a row, the company has shown steady growth rates ahead of industry average indicators, which indicates the high efficiency of all airport operations. At the same time, passenger traffic growth is noted both in domestic and international destinations.

One of the key factors in increasing passenger flow now is the development of interregional routes. Due to close cooperation with airlines, including Rossiya Airlines, Ufa Airport was one of the first airports in the country where the share of flights to other regions bypassing Moscow exceeded 56%. Thus, it was possible to achieve the target set by President Vladimir Putin in more than 50% of non-stop flights in the capital.

Next year, this work, with the support of the government of the republic, will be continued. In early 2020, residents of the republic will have an opportunity to use direct flights to Volgograd, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod. The frequency of flights along the most popular routes, including to St. Petersburg, Sochi, Novosibirsk and other cities of the country, is increasing. The network of international destinations is expanding. Thus, next year a direct flight to Yerevan will open, the flight program to Vienna will continue, which is gaining popularity among tourists and business representatives.

Rossiya Airlines presented a 3.5-millionth passenger with a certificate for a free flight on the route Ufa - St. Petersburg - Ufa. Also, as a gift from the Ufa airport, the anniversary passenger was awarded a certificate for free parking, souvenirs, and a business lounge service certificate.
