More than 10 Forbes investors will take part in “Bashkortostan Calling!” Investment forum

More than 10 Forbes investors will take part in the upcoming “Bashkortostan Calling!” First Investment Forum to be held in Ufa on December 18, said Andrei Nazarov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republican Government.

“We have invited about 500 participants. It is planned that about 300 large companies will take part in the forum. About 14 confirmed participants are from the Forbes list”, he marked at a briefing session in the regional government.

According to Nazarov, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov will personally meet with about ten major investors who will come to Ufa at this investment forum. The plans are to hold the “Bashkortostan Calling!” forum annually - to make it traditional.

“I really hope that the “Bashkortostan Calling!” Forum will be useful. We have spent a considerable amount of time working with investors, and the positive results are self-evident. We have reached a 15 percent increase. Let's see how the year ends. Yes, we are doing everything right, but we still have to do a lot. There is potential for it”, Radiy Khabirov expressed his opinion.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, in 2019 the growth of investments in the economy of the republic amounted to 15%. It was announced by Radiy Khabirov in his Message to the State Assembly RB on December 10.

"We have learned how to work with federal ministries and corporations. We were able to coordinate the opening of three new priority development areas. We are persistently moving towards the creation of the “Alga” special economic zone, which, I am sure, will give a powerful impetus to the development of the Sterlitamak-Ishimbay-Salavat agglomeration, the launch of modern production facilities there”, stated Radiy Khabirov.

As the press service of the republican Ministry of Economic Development emphasized, the key speakers of the “Bashkortostan Calling!” forum would be the country's strategic investors, who would share not only their work experience but also offer ways of the region’s further development.

The 2019 forum program includes the presentation of Bashkortostan as a territory of free investment, the plenary session “Investing in Regions: Points of Growth and Best Practices”, and the work of various discussion sections.

“In 2019, great efforts at all levels of government were aimed at improving the investment and business climate, preparing a convenient infrastructure with special economic status (SEZ, PDA, industrial parks), and adjusting republican legislation to simplify the procedures for implementing investment projects”, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government - Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of Bashkortostan Rustam Muratov commented on.

The forum program also includes the holding of the first meeting of the Active Investors Club "Alga, Bashkiria!"
