“Ufa. Art. Crafts. Souvenirs" exhibition will take place in Ufa

From December 5 to 8, Ufa will host the “Ufa. Art. Crafts. Souvenirs" exhibition. It will take place at VDNH Exhibition Center. This year the exhibition will be held in conjunction with the First Volga Festival of Folk Art Crafts and the competition “Craftsman of the Year - 2019”. Products from wood, glass, clay, stone, leather, felt, fabric by craftsmen from all over the Volga Federal District, and surrounding regions will be presented at the exhibition. At the exposition, it will be possible to see and purchase jewelry, outfits in ethnic style, panel pictures, household items made according to the ancient craft traditions. 340 masters of Bashkortostan from 58 districts and cities of the republic are expected to participate.
More than 60 craftsmen will come from 16 regions of Russia and the Republic of Belarus. Among the participants are neighbors from the Chelyabinsk region and Tatarstan, from the central regions of the country - Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Lipetsk, Vologda, Perm Territory, and others. For the first time in Ufa, the collective stands of their masters will be presented by the Sverdlovsk, Kirov and Saratov regions, the Republics of Mari El and Tataria, the Chuvash Republic.
The "Сrafts School” will operate for the first time as part of the festival in Ufa. In total, about 100 masterclasses will be held. The festival will host fashion shows and ethnic shows, contests and show programs, tasting Bashkir cuisine, prize drawings. The festival will feature contests "Craftsman of the Year 2019" and "Young Artisan", "Master - Gifted Hands", "Bashkir Shawl". Everyone will be able to take part in the competition of design ideas "ART New-Year Tree" on the eve of the winter holidays. This social project will be held for the 11th time. The festival’s business program includes a “Preservation, revival and development of folk art crafts in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation” round table, a meeting on the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Bashkortostan “On folk art crafts”, and a business section “My craft is my business”. 24 folklore and dance groups from different parts of the republic will perform on the main stage of the VDNH-EXPO exhibition complex.
