UMPO will locate 250 units of high-tech equipment in new workshops

Ufa Engine-Building Production Association (UEC-UMPO) is the developer and largest manufacturer of aircraft engines in Russia. It is part of the United Engine-Building State Corporation "Rostec". Today, Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec State Corporation, and Radiy Khabirov, Head of Bashkortostan visited the production workshops of the enterprise. In 2018, UMPO completed the organization of a production and technological center No. 185, engaged in the production of VK-2500 engine components under the import substitution program. The managing director of UMPO Evgeny Semivelichenko told the guests that these components are used for helicopter engines.
At UMPO, work has been completed on the creation of three more production and technological centers, where 250 units of high-tech equipment will be installed. Their opening will take place soon. All centers are designed taking into account the best world standards and practices, including the application of lean manufacturing principles.
Recall that in January 2018, this center was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He praised the scale of the deployed production and the technical equipment of the center.
In the test shop, the Rostec head, Sergei Chemezov, and the Head of Bashkortostan saw how the aircraft engines are tested.
The General Director of UEC JSC Alexander Artyukhov recalled that the association produced turbojet engines for aircraft of the Su-35, Su-27, Su-30 family, and separate components for the Ka and Mi helicopters. Currently, UEC-UMPO employs more than 23,000 people. The company is also a developer and lead manufacturer of a promising engine for the fifth-generation fighter Su-57.
