Car prices will rise in Russia due to increased waste collection since 2020

UFA, 25 November 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Russian Government approved an increase in the recycling fee for cars in 2020. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, according to the newspaper «Kommersant».
From January next year, cars will rise in price due to the traditional updating of the model line-up and other objective factors, however, an increase in the waste collection will have an additional effect on price increases.
Prices will grow the most in the passenger car segment - an average of 110.7%. At the same time, cars with an engine up to 1 liter will be effected less (an increase of 46.1%), cars with an engine of 3.5 liters more (an increase of 145%). Waste collection for the most massive segment of cars (engine 1-2 liters) will increase by almost 112.4%.
