Bank of Russia: 50-ruble coins may appear in circulation

The Central Bank allowed the issuance of coins in denominations of 50 rubles, Gazeta.ru informs with reference to the deputy director of the cash circulation department of the Bank of Russia Vladimir Demidenko.

As the representative of the Central Bank explained, representatives of the vending industry are in favor of issuing a 50-ruble coin. They need that kind of money for the change.

Nevertheless, when issuing a new coin, you must be sure that it will serve for at least 20-30 years, said Vladimir Demidenko. This period will make it possible to recoup the investment in coinage.

Now the Central Bank is studying this issue. If the need for coins with a face value of 50 rubles really exists, then they may be started to issue.
