4.3 billion rubles will be invested in railway infrastructure development of Bashkiria in 2019

According to Russian Railways, 4.3 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of the region’s railway infrastructure this year. These funds are necessary both to maintain the efficiency of the railway facilities and the reconstruction of station complexes.

Over 130 km of tracks had all types of repairs in preparation for the winter season. In October, repairs and landscaping of Tuymazy station were completed - the roof was repaired, LED lamps were installed, the interior and facade were updated. The stations and platforms of commuter trains were repaired and modernized. In total, 312 passenger platforms, 33 stations, and 22 passenger pavilions were prepared for the winter season in Bashkiria.

The most expensive project is the reconstruction of the Ufa railway station, designed to serve 6,200 people a day. Works began in 2004 and are still ongoing. In 2019, the reconstruction of the existing station building, concourse, external engineering networks and the construction of passenger platform No. 4 should be completed. At the second stage, designed for 2020-2021, reconstruction of passenger platforms No. 2 and No. 3, reconstruction and extension of the pedestrian tunnel, as well as the construction of a six-story hotel for 100 rooms near the railway station area are planned. An investor is being searched for a hotel with an estimated value of 500 million rubles.

According to the roadmap, this year Russian Railways will allocate 568 million rubles for the reconstruction of the Ufa railway station. As of September, the funds already allocated amounted to 380 million rubles.
