Population decline amounted to 4.7 thousand people in Bashkiria

The population of Bashkiria decreased by 12.3 thousand people this year. According to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency, as of January 1, 2019, 4 million 51 thousand people lived in the republic.

In January – August 2019, 28,343 people were born, compared to 31,749 in the eight months of 2018 (-3406).

33 042 people died against 34 456 (-1414), including 189 infants against 178 last year.

The population decline was 4699 people (the difference between the number of births and the number of deaths). The natural decline in January – August 2018 was 2,707 people.

A high share of deaths from the circulatory system diseases remains (45.4% - 15,008 people), malignant, and benign neoplasms (14.5% - 4786). Three hundred seven people (-31) died in road accidents, 70 (-5) died from accidental alcohol poisoning, 552 people committed suicide (-36), 111 (+5) died as a result of the killings, and 2065 (+367)died of respiratory and infectious diseases.

The total migration decline in the population in January-August 2019 was minus 1382 people. Nine hundred ninety-nine people left for other regions of Russia, 404 people left for the CIS countries. Twenty-one people arrived from foreign countries.

Residents of Bashkiria began to marry and get divorced less: 16 356 marriages were concluded (-1246), 10 102 divorces (-81) were registered.
