Bashkiria will export 3.5 thousand tons of rapeseed oil

Bashkiria will export 3.5 thousand tons of rapeseed oil to the EU countries, the Ministry of Agriculture of the region reports.

The Chishminsky oil-extraction plant is the only one engaged in rapeseed processing in the republic.

“The processing of this oilseed crop is conducted here only for the second year. This year, the Chishminsky oil-extraction plant plans to accept and process 8 thousand tons of oilseeds during October-November. The enterprise already has a contract for the supply of 3.5 thousand tons of rapeseed oil to the EU countries, ”said Almaz Galimov, spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkiria.

Nowadays, rapeseed is cultivated in 43 regions of the republic. At the same time, the largest crop areas are in Ilishevsky, Aurgazinsky, and Sterlitamaksky districts.

At the moment, rape harvesting in the region is being completed. According to the latest data, 94 percent of the area was harvested, 50 thousand tons of oilseed rape were collected. This is 15 thousand tons more than a year ago.

Compared to last year, rapeseed productivity in Bashkiria also increased - 1.3 times - and reached an average of 11.4 centners per hectare. The leader in rapeseed productivity this year is the Sterlitamaksky district, which collects more than 20 centners of seeds per hectare.

It is still unknown how many hectares in the republic will be planted with rapeseed next year, but "definitely no less than in 2019", the ministry informs.
