All-Russian contest of comfortable urban environment projects is launched

A few days ago, the All-Russian contest of the best projects on the comfortable urban environment in small cities and historical settlements 2020 started in Nizhny Novgorod.

This year the competition is held for the third time, "small cities" with a population of up to 100 thousand people inclusive, as well as historical settlements of federal and regional significance, take part in it, with the exception of administrative centers and cities of federal significance. Since 2019, the competition has been held within the framework of the federal national project “Housing and Urban Environment”.

Last year, 330 applications from 77 regions were submitted to the competition, including six projects from Bashkiria. Project evaluation and selection of winners was carried out in three stages. Winning projects receive 30 billion rubles from the federal budget.

The competition was organized by order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and was first held in 2018. At present, 160 projects are already being implemented in small towns. Two of them are in Bashkiria, in the cities of Birsk and Belebey.
