Bashkiria sugar factories processed nearly half-million tons of root crops

Three sugar plants processed 486.5 thousand tons of sugar beets in Bashkiria. To date, enterprises have harvested 747 thousand tons of root crops. Bashkir beet farms fully cover the needs of local processing facilities and sell raw materials to other regions.

A total of 1.36 million tons of beets were harvested in the republic. The yield of root crops on average is 362 centners per hectare. The highest average productivity in the Buzdyaksky district is 422 kg/hectare, in the Chekmagushevsky district - 392 kg/hectare, in the Chishminsky and Yermekeyevsky districts - 385 kg/ hectare.

The gross harvest of sugar beets at the beginning of the season was planned in the amount of 1.5 million tons. Last year, the crop amounted to 1.41 million tons, in 2017 - more than 1.58 million tons.
