Bashkiria's sugar factories are preparing to process 1.5 million tons of sugar beets

Sugar factories are preparing to process 1.5 million tons of sugar beets of a new crop in Bashkiria, the Ministry of Agriculture informs. “Chishminsky Sakhar”, which was launched on August 25, plans to procure and process 620 thousand tons of raw materials. “Raevsakhar” - 550 thousand tons of raw materials, the launch of the production line is scheduled for September 8. Meleuzovsky Sugar Plant will begin operating on September 15 and will process 320 thousand tons of root crops.
The amount of production depends on the sugar content of beets. With an average of 1.5 million tons of raw materials, about 230 thousand tons of sugar can be obtained. The norm of sugar consumption is 24 kg per year per person in Russia. In 2018, 39.4 kg of sugar was accounted for every Russian resident.
