Rail Sarbaev: UMMC will train 500 employees to work at Podolskoye field

After completion of the preparatory works at the Podolskoye deposit in the Khaibullinsky district, where the construction of an underground mine was launched yesterday, the recruitment of workers for the main production facilities will begin.

The first 500 employees will undergo training at the Gaysky mining and processing plant within six months, and then return to work at the Podolskoye deposit, Rail Sarbaev the General Director of Bashkortostan Development Corporation told the Bashinform News Agency.

According to him, an agreement on this was reached during a meeting between the head of the republic Radiy Khabirov and the UMMC CEO Andrei Kozitsyn.

“It is a historic event as over the past 20 years no similar enterprises have been laid or launched in Russia. Together with the Yubileinoye deposit, ore reserves are estimated at 9 million tons per year. The explored copper reserves amount to 2 million tons, zinc - 1.5 million tons, gold - 133 tons. First of all, these are new jobs and tax deductions for Trans-Urals, on which the social life of the region directly depends, ”Rail Sarbaev said.

Total, the Yubileinoye, and Podolskoye deposits are twice the capacities of the Uchalinsky mining plant, which pays almost 6 billion rubles in taxes. The new production will increase revenues to budgets of all levels, the head of the Bashkortostan Development Corporation added.
