Modified bitumen is produced in Bashkiria according to Superpave PG system

In 2018, the Salavat company “Bitum” LLC began production of modified bitumen using the SPAS Superpave PG system. The SPAS system contains fundamentally new test methods. The CEO of the enterprise, Dmitry Dontsov, told the head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov, that this was a new method for assessing a bitumen binder in Russia.

The company currently employs 294 people. The production of oil bitumen includes two plants with a capacity of 250 thousand tons per year. The equipment was upgraded at the enterprise. In particular, the processes became completely automated to control production cycles accurately. Bitum LLC has its modern laboratory, which is included in the unified accredited register of Rosavtodor laboratories. It can make a full range of analyzes using the SPAS Superpave PG system. The main consumers of the company's products are the largest road-building organizations of Bashkortostan and neighboring regions.

Radiy Khabirov noted the importance of producing modified bitumen, which can improve the quality of the road surface and increase the service life of the roads. Road workers, he said, should more actively use Bashkir bitumen in the repair and construction of roads.

Our republic is one of the first regions in Russia to begin the active introduction of Superpave PG technology, which allows increasing the service life of the roadway and reducing repair and maintenance costs. According to this technology, last year 67 kilometers of roads were repaired, this year - 57 kilometers.

The head of the republic also examined the “Salavatmetall” enterprise, the founder of which is Bitum LLC. Here, metal structures are galvanized in special bathtubs at a temperature of 460 degrees. It increases their service life to 50 years.
