Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov signed an application from the republic to create a special economic zone of industrial-production type called "Alga" in Ishimbaysky and Sterlitamaksky districts. In the near future, the documents will be submitted for consideration to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the press service of Head of Bashkortostan reports.
The package of documents includes a financial feasibility study, calculations of forecasted performance indicators, data on territorial planning.
The total area of four sections of the special economic zone (two in each district) will be 468.8 hectares.
“The sites were selected based on the availability of the transport network, the available engineering infrastructure, environmental requirements, and industrial potential,” said the Interim Deputy Prime Minister - Chief of Staff of the Government of Bashkortostan, Ilshat Tazhitdinov. “The opinion of the residents was also taken into account.”
Electric, gas, and water supply networks, access roads for automobile and rail transport will be built here to develop the territory with the support of the republic. The size of investments is about 6 billion rubles.
Seven potential residents have already confirmed their intentions to implement investment projects in the special economic zone. These are enterprises of petrochemistry, instrument making, food industry.
The Government of the region has concluded relevant agreements with all investors. The total expected investment is about 24 billion rubles.
In the future, the territory of the special economic zone can be further expanded to implement new projects.
As the head of the region noted, the Russian Government was ready to support the application of Bashkortostan. Previously, this initiative was discussed at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
