2.2 billion rubles will be spent for forest conservation in Bashkiria

Bashkiria will spend 2.2 billion rubles on measures to ensure a balance between deforestation and reforestation until 2024 in the framework of the “Forest Conservation” federal project. It was announced on August 28 at a press conference by the Minister of Forestry of the Republic Marat Sharafutdinov.

The total funding for the federal project is more than 141 billion rubles. In Bashkortostan, financial support for the implementation of the project is provided in the amount of 2.2 billion rubles, of which 900 million rubles are federal budget funds, the remaining 1.3 billion are extrabudgetary funds from forest users and tenants. This year, 163 million rubles are received under the project.

“About 80 million rubles will be spent on reforestation, 80 million on the purchase of forest fire-fighting and forestry equipment. 37 units of equipment, 37 units of equipment for forestries have already been purchased. These are cultivators for forest crops, planting machines for a mechanized method of planting, plows. 12 units of fire fighting equipment are also purchased”, Marat Sharafutdinov noted.

According to Marat Sharafutdinov, reforestation includes artificial restoration, combined reforestation, when additional planting to standard values (4 thousand pieces per 1 ha) and natural regrowth are carried out. Currently, the percentage of artificial reforestation in the republic is one of the highest in Russia: more than 50%. Regarding the volumes of artificial reforestation, the region traditionally occupies a leading position in the Volga Federal District and the 4-5th positions in Russia.

Forests cover 40% of the territory of Bashkiria - 6.3 million hectares. The Ministry of Forestry RB manages 5.7 million hectares, the rest of the land is specially protected natural territories of federal importance.
