Vladimir Putin held working meeting with Radiy Khabirov

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, at which the socio-economic situation in the region was discussed. According to Radiy Khabirov, the industrial production index is at the level of 104.5%, the construction complex shows an increase of 9% compared to the last year. Radiy Khabirov noted that in agriculture the previous years were not the most successful after the droughts of previous years.

During the working meeting, demographics issues were also addressed. Vladimir Putin asked why infant mortality in Bashkortostan was higher than nationwide. He asked to pay special attention to this issue.

According to Radiy Khabirov, the authorities are well aware that “the social sector and social well-being mean not only new productions but new high salaries and jobs, work is underway in the region to reduce the number of unemployed, its level is at 4.3% now.”

“We reached 113.6% of investments in fixed assets. Therefore, we have an increase in the number of small and medium-sized enterprises. Last year we had 92, the year before last under 90, and in 2016 about 102 percent”, said Radiy Khabirov.

Acting Head of Bashkortostan also marked the appearance of foreign investors, in particular, the largest French company Savencia to produce soft cheeses in the republic. All tools to support investors are applied in the region.

Radiy Khabirov during the working meeting thanked Vladimir Putin for his support in assigning the three more cities of Bashkortostan the status of PDA (priority social and economic development area).

“We are now working to create a special economic zone. The Government supports us - in September we submit documents. The center of the republic - the city of Salavat, and the city of Ishimbay, where Gazprom’s largest enterprise Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, are on the next stage”, said Radiy Khabirov.

Acting Head of Bashkortostan at the end of the working meeting with Vladimir Putin said that the International Federation had decided to hold the 2021World Junior Wrestling Championship in Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's wrestling in the republic.
