Trout farm plans to produce up to 3000 tons of marketable fish in Bashkiria

The company "Belsky Fish Farm" is completing the construction of a fish farm in the Askinsky district. The Bashkortostan Development Corporation supports this investment project to create an artificial reservoir for breeding and growing trout and northern commercial fish. The company plans to implement a global project that will increase the number of locally produced fish products by 3,000 tons. It is planned to create 100 new jobs. By 2023, the investor plans to arrange a network of artificial ponds and build a factory for the processing of commercial fish in the territory of the priority development area in the city of Blagoveshchensk, the press service of the Corporation for Development RB reports.

In Bashkiria, imports are 24 times higher than domestic production of fish products. In order to develop fisheries in the region, various measures of state support are used. For example, subsidies are provided in the amount of 7.25% for a period of up to 10 years on the implementation of investment projects aimed at developing commercial aquaculture since February 2017. In 2018 more than 900 thousand rubles from budgets of different levels were allocated for the reimbursement of part of the interest rates of used loans.

The republic has natural conditions for fish farming - there are 375 ponds suitable for fishing activities, of which only 10% are involved. The Development Corporation conducted an analysis of the fishing industry and created a business case to increase fish production in Bashkiria.
