Bashkiria Agriculture Ministry predicts 10 percent annual increase in milk production

UFA, 16 August 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
In 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkiria plans to increase the production of marketed milk by 10 percent.
According to the Interim Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, farms will acquire eight thousand heads of heifers in the republic in 2019, from which 72 thousand tons of milk will be received after a short time. Total, 725 thousand tons of milk are currently produced in Bashkiria.
By 2021, it is planned to increase the production of commercial-scale milk in Bashkiria to 1 million tons per year.
Currently, nine large livestock farms are under construction.
“The need for commercial-scale milk has increased. Most of the milk in Bashkiria is currently received from farms for 200-400 heads of dairy herds,” said Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.
According to him, this format of farms is already outdated, and megafarms are being created instead. One of them is in the village of Semen-Makarovo, Yermekeevsky district, where there will be 2800 heads of dairy herds in one place. A farm for 1200 cows is being built in Kaltasinsky district; in the Trans-Urals, “Krasnaya Bashkiria” is erecting two cowsheds for 400 and 500 heads, and indoor and outdoor-indoor complexes will also appear in Yanaul. The complex for five thousand cows will be opened in Aurgazinsky district.
“Bashkiria needs 20 such projects. In the next two to three years, we plan to begin construction of another 11 complexes. At the same time, dairy plants should be developed, ”said the Interim Deputy Prime Minister.
