Increased investment will lead to better living standards - economists

In the first half of 2019, investors channeled about 106 billion rubles, mainly into projects in the field of agriculture, construction, and manufacturing. The growth was 13.6%, compared to January-June 2018. This was stated by the Acting Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov at a meeting of the Investment Council.

“Since 2013, the economy has experienced a recession due to the 2008 crisis. Therefore, the growth of investment now is excellent news. It’s because in a year or two (unfortunately, the positive effect does not occur immediately), investments in the economy will lead to an increase in jobs, including high-paying ones, to an increase in incomes of the population, and therefore to an improvement in the socio-economic situation, ” Ildar Zulkarnay, director of the Center for Strategic and Interdisciplinary Studies of the Ufa Federal Research Center RAS, shared his comments.

Such an increase in investment in the republic is observed for the first time in many years, and this is the result of extensive and well-coordinated work, said Radiy Khabirov. In his opinion, an effective leap forward was possible with the unconditional support of the business by the authorities. Small business needs special support, the head of the region noted. 70% of investments are formed by large companies - Bashneft, Gazpromneftekhim, UMPO, UGOK, Polyef, BSC, Kronospan.
