About one thousand photo and video cameras will be installed on roads of Bashkiria by May 2020

By May 2020, about 1000 photo and video cameras recording violations will work on the roads of Bashkiria. This was announced at a briefing session in the Government of the republic by the head of the State Transport Committee Timur Mukhametyanov.

Currently, 527 cameras are operating, it is planned to install another 459 complexes in 2020.

The head of the transport department also spoke about plans for the construction and repair of roads. So, it is planned to repair 351 kilometers of roads, build 6.1 kilometers of roads, install 26 traffic lights, and place lanterns on roads longer than nine thousand linear meters.

Total, it is planned to direct 5.6 billion rubles for roads facilities in 2019, of which 2.3 billion are federal funds, 3.3 billion are from the republican budget.

According to the plans of the republican State Transport Committee, by 2024, the share of regional roads that meet regulatory requirements will reach 56.5 percent (in 2018, this figure was 54.5 percent); in urban agglomerations - 86.2 percent. The number of places where accidents occur will be reduced by half, and the number of fatalities in accidents will decrease to four per hundred thousand people.
