Radiy Khabirov instructed to intensify work on raising federal funds

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, following the meeting of the Government devoted to the socio-economic development issues of the republic, instructed the ministries and departments to intensify work on attracting federal funds. According to him, it should be done continuously. Heads of relevant ministries should build business relations with their federal colleagues. Today, every ruble is important, any financial assistance from the federal center, which can be directed to the implementation of programs for the integrated development of rural areas, the construction of roads, bridges, and infrastructure facilities.

For five months of this year, Bashkortostan managed to attract 48 billion rubles of federal funds. This is by 30% more than for the same period of 2018. Of this amount, 31.7 billion rubles were received under various federal programs, 15.9 billion - as part of the national projects implementation.

Radiy Khabirov noted that the republic today was in dire need of road infrastructure, and his working trips over Bashkiria showed that many roads needed major repairs.

“The republic allocates more than 80 percent of its treasury to social spending, and only 0.3 percent to the real economy development, which provides growth and additional income. It is clear that we have many questions and we “extinguish” heavy social “fires” so to speak: we repair roads, improve yards, replace worn-out buses, liquidate school outdoor toilets. People are waiting for solutions to these problems. However, we should understand that 0.3 percent is not a development strategy for the republic. The results of the first half of 2019 can be considered as quite good. Although, there is much room for improvement and many things to fix. Do not slow down the pace of your work”, said Radiy Khabirov.
