Industrial production index grew by 4.4% in Bashkiria during first half of 2019

UFA, 31 July 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The index of industrial production in Bashkortostan for the first six months of this year amounted to 104.4 with an annual forecast of 102.6%. The positive trend is observed in mineral production (11.9% growth over the same period of the last year), oil refining (118.4%), production of chemical products (103%). The largest growth was shown by enterprises that produce electrical equipment (155.9%), vehicles and machinery (152.1%), computers, electronic and optical products (140.6%). In many industries, the republic shows numbers above the national average.
These figures were announced at a government meeting, which is currently taking place in Ufa. The Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov noted that the construction industry was also emerging from the crisis. About 1 million square meters of housing was put into operation (more than 12 thousand apartments), which is 13.4% higher than the level of six months of the last year. According to this indicator, the republic ranks 2nd in the Volga Federal District and 7th in Russia. It was managed to stop the negative trend in agriculture this year. The volume of production amounted to 48.7 billion rubles. The positive tendencies preserved in the labor market. The unemployment rate in the republic decreased from 4.9% to 4.5%.
According to Radiy Khabirov, the growth of retail trade turnover by 3.2% (only 392.7 billion rubles) is encouraging. The average monthly salary was 34.7 thousand rubles for five months. The demographic situation remains complicated. The birth rate has fallen by 9.9% in the republic, in connection with this, the natural population decline increased 1.5 times and amounted to 3,773 people. However, at the same time, the mortality rate decreased by 3.1 percent. The main reasons for the current situation with birth rate are a reduction in the number of women of childbearing age, increasing the age of motherhood, migration processes.
