In Bashkortostan, even though winter crops have suffered for the first time in seven years due to bad weather conditions, the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan does not plan to reduce the amount of cropland. The Interim Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture RB Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, in an interview with the Bashinform News Agency, said that currently, rye was at a premium and those farms that sowed it would gain profit at the lowest cost.
“600 thousand hectares of winter crops is a normal volume for the republic. We have already held three seminars on winter crops, now we are preparing fallows, and we will not reduce our planting areas”, said Ilshat Fazrahmanov.
Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that in connection with the loss of winter crops, agrarians of the republic could lose 0.5 million tons of crops, the damage was estimated at 6 billion rubles.
Speaking about the development strategy of the agro-industrial complex of the republic for the next five years, the head of the agrarian department noted that dairy cattle breeding would be of priority.
“We are launching new dairy plants, constructing new industrial livestock farms. The second area is beef cattle; this is what nature allows us. We focus plant growers on exports, what is in demand abroad and what is sold for currency and will bring them income”, said Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.
