Savencia will launch soft cheeses production at Belebeevsky dairy plant in Bashkiria

Today, a ceremony of laying the first stone in the new production of soft cheeses at the local dairy plant took place in Belebey. It is planned to produce there up to 9 thousand tons of products annually.

The French company Savencia Fromage & Dairy, specializing in the production of cheese and dairy delicacies, plans to invest about 2 billion rubles. The project is planned to be implemented in two stages: at the first stage, the production capacity will be 3000 tons, at the second - 6000 tons. About 200 new jobs will be created there. The launch of the plant is expected in October 2020.

The head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, who, together with the French Ambassador to Russia Sylvie Bermann and other guests, inspected the existing production facilities of the Belebeevsky dairy plant, took part in the solemn ceremony of launching the new enterprise construction. The company's CEO, Yevgeny Linkevich, said that 750 people worked here, 23 kinds of cheese were produced at the plant at the moment. The plant annually deducts up to 500 million rubles in taxes to the budget of the republic. The guests visited the workshops where the production of cheeses, their ripening, and packaging for further shipment to retail chains were going on.

According to the French Ambassador to Russia, the whole project started two years ago in Paris when a cooperation agreement was signed.

“France is called the country of 300 types of cheeses, and the Savencia company inculcates a culture of cheese consumption in the countries of its presence. I am pleased to be here, in the Bashkir Belebey, at the launch of new production and to see the company’s work”, said Ms. Sylvie Bermann.

According to the CEO of the Savencia group of companies, Jean-Paul Torrey, the most beautiful and large cheese factory will be built in Belebey.
