It is planned to spend more than 1 billion rubles on beekeeping development over 11 years in Bashkortostan

Bashkortostan plans to allocate 1,101 billion rubles for the development of beekeeping in accordance with the comprehensive program for 2019-2030, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture reports.
The objectives of the program are to increase the production of marketable honey by creating large specialized beekeeping farms, preserving the genotype of the Bashkir population of the European dark bee, and popularizing the Bashkir Honey brand. According to the beginning of 2019, there were 325.3 thousand bee families in farms of all forms of ownership, including 7.2 thousand in agricultural enterprises, 30.8 thousand in peasant farms, and 287.3 thousand in the private sector. At the end of 2018, the volume of honey production amounted to 12.6 thousand tons, including 5.4 thousand tons of marketable products.
It is assumed that as a result of the program implementation by 2030, the total number of bee colonies in Bashkiria will increase to 460 thousand, specialized beekeeping farms – to 60, apiaries in specially protected natural areas from 1 (in 2018) to 11, the honey export volume from 50 tons up to 500 tons.
