Number of unemployed fell to 89 thousand people in Bashkiria

The number of unemployed residents of Bashkortostan decreased to 89 thousand people, the Ministry of Labor RB informs citing data from the last survey by Rosstat.

A year ago, the number of unemployed according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization reached 105.7 thousand people in the region.

Vice versa, the number of the employed population in Bashkiria now exceeds 1.8 million people, which corresponds to the employment rate of 55.3%.

The average unemployment rate for February-April 2019 amounted to 4.7% of the economically active population in the republic.

For comparison: this indicator was equal to 4.8% nationwide, in the Volga Federal District - 4.4%.

Since the beginning of the year, 23,500 residents of the republic received unemployed status, which is by 21.2% more than in January-May 2018.

Traditionally, the overwhelming majority of the unemployed in the republic or 60% are women.
