Radiy Khabirov abandoned idea of building football stadium in Ufa

The Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov said that they would not build a large football stadium in Ufa. The head of the republic announced it at a plenary session of the first All-Russian Investment Sabantuy, which was held in Sibay last Saturday.

“Now we will start thinking about the budget for the next year. Maybe, it is worth increasing the share of the infrastructure and business support in it. As now we are talking about such money, which will not bring any particular joy to people. It is one thing to build a grand football palace, from which I, by the way, refused. Because it is better to direct this money to more necessary things. And when we earn it, we will build a football palace, will make everyone weep and cry, including our neighbors. But this will be later. In the meantime, we should learn how to make money,” said Radiy Khabirov.

The construction of a new football stadium in the capital of Bashkiria was discussed at the end of May in the executive office of the head of the republic at the “Construction Hour” meeting. It was planned that a sports facility with a capacity of 20 thousand people would appear on the way to Zaton neighborhood, immediately after the bridge over the Belaya River. The second location option was near the Mega shopping mall.
